Where to Start?
Chances are, you are on this web site because you are looking for answers. Perhaps you have a family member or friend who is a Jehovah’s Witness and you need more information in order to witness to them. Most people want to start by tackling things like the deity of Christ or the Trinity, but if you choose this area I think you are making a mistake.
I have heard this analogy that I think is great. If you wanted to drop a tree you wouldn’t do it by ramming your head into some of the biggest limbs. You may be able to break the limb, but you certainly wouldn’t bring the tree down. What you need to do is go right to the heart of the tree which is the trunk. If you cut into the trunk, then all you need to do is push the tree over with one finger.
This is the same way I think you should start any discussion with a Jehovah’s Witness. You should focus on the Watchtower itself by exposing the so called “Gods Organization”. You see, the Jehovah’s Witness take direction from “the channel of communications that God Uses” which is the Watchtower and anything you say they will reject as coming from Satan’s organization. Satan’s organization is anyone who is not a Jehovah’s Witness. With this in mind, you could have the best argument there is for the deity of Christ or the Trinity and they will dismiss it as just a deception from the Devil.
In order to have any kind of meaningful conversation with a JW, you will need to get them to see the mind control and brain washing that is used by the Watchtower to keep them in bondage to their lies.
Focus on the organization and how they flip-flopped on their doctrines, about their false prophecies and just how much they have covered up these issues by their dishonesty. Once you can open their eyes to this, the more likely they will be able to see the truth in the scriptures.
