Reasoning? I’m really sorry, but that doesn’t even make sense. Who said the 144,000 was not a literal number? My goodness, the question is about the great crowd which the Watchtower teaches the Jehovah’s Witnesses that they will be on earth! The 144,000 is not in question here.

The answer is indicated by the fact that after mention of the definite number 144,000, Revelation 7:9 refers to "a great crowd, which no man was able to number." If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to the "great crowd." Viewing the number as literal agrees with Jesus statement at Matthew 22:14 regarding the kingdom of the heavens: "There are many invited, but few chosen."

The "great crowd in heaven" referred to at Revelation 19:1,6 is not the same as the "great crowd" of Revelation 7:9.

Look, I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong here, I'm just trying to find what the truth is. I want to know God. I care enough about where I am going to spend eternity that I want to examine EVERYTHING closely. If Jesus is God I don't want to dishonor him by saying he isn't. But if he isn't God, I don't want to dishonor God by saying he is. I'm not here to prove any points.

Please show me where in the Bible it says that. If you are going to say John 1:1, the NWT has been changed. The same word for God which is;
[G2316 - Strongs number
θεός - Greek Word
theos - Greek to english
theh'-os
Of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively a magistrate; by Hebraism very: - X exceeding, God, god [-ly, -ward].]
Is the same greek word used in the "orginal greek" for "God" which is used three times in the first verse.

Now go to Colossians 1:16. You see where the word "other" has these [ ] brackets around it? That means that the word was added. To prove my point, go to your Kingdom Interlinar Translations and check it out. Do you see the word "other" on the left hand side of the page where it is suppose to translate "word for word" the greek? No you don't! Why? Because it isn't in the original greek! What has the Watchtower done by adding the word "other" there? They did not had a word to help in the understanding of todays language, they added a word that CHANGED the meaning of the verse! And now they point to this verse and say "see here, Jesus created all "other" things". That is a lie and you should see that now.

Very good Ladybug! You have just proven my point. There is only one God! Interesting that you used Malachi 2:10, lets look at that. Humm, the Watchtower teaches you that Jehovah created Jesus and Jesus created all "other" things. How can we have one Father (Jehovah) and another God create us? Notice that God here is capitialized meaning Jehovah. I thought Jesus created us?

~Mark 12:29- The Lord our God is one Lord.

~Mark 12:32-(speaking to Jesus) And the scribe said to him,
Well, Master, you have said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he.

~John 8:42- Jesus said to them, if God were your Father, you would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

~Deuteronomy 6:4- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord

~Malachi 2:10- Have we not all one Father: Did not one God create us?

Ladybug, if we go with what you are saying, (I am assuming that you mean there is one God) you are right! So the question is this. The Watchtower teaches that there is only one “Almighty God” and Jesus is a lesser “god” (small “g”). If the Bible says there is only one true God and all other gods are false then is Jesus a true God or a false god? The Bible calls Satan the “god” of this world, so is he a true god or false god? The Bible says that Jesus is God and Jehovah is God, so they must be the same God in order to be true.
Examples;

Jesus is God; Isa 9:6, John 1:1, John 20:28, 2 Pet 1:1, Titus 2:13, Jer 23:6, Heb 1:8, 1 John 5:20.
Jehovah is God; Jer32:18, Isa 43:10, Isa 45:22,
The Holy Spirit is God; Acts 5:3,4

Jesus is the Savior; Acts 2:21, Acts 4:12, Rom 10:9, Jude 25
Jehovah is Savior; Ps 106:21, Hosea 13:4, Isa 45:21 Isa 43:3,11

Jesus is Creator; John 1:3, Col 1:15-17, Heb 1:10
Jehovah is Creator; Job 33:4, Isa 40:28, Gen 1:1
The Holy Spirit is Creator; Job 33:4, 26:13

And there are many more verses that show that they are the same. Let’s be honest, we don’t believe the Trinity because we understand and can comprehend it, we believe it because the Bible reveals it.

Let’s put it another way, if you sat a 3 year old down and tried to explain why an airplane can fly based on the law of aerodynamics, how far would you get? I can assure you he will not understand, but he will believe you because you are his parent and he trusts you. Just like there will come a day when that child understands what you are saying, there will also come a day when we understand what God is telling us. But until then, we trust his Word.
