The Watchtower History – Part 1

The Title of this post use to read “Jehovah’s Witnesses History Part 1″, because that is the name of the video. I think the name of this video is wrong and should be “The Watchtower History”, not the Jehovah’s Witness History. A few Witnesses have taken this as a personal attack and I can’t say I blame them with a title like that. Please understand when you watch this video, it portrays the history of the Watchtower and not a group of people who have been mislead by them! Therefore, I am changing the title of this post to more accurately reflect that it is about the “organization”, not the people.

If you feel something is not true, please be specific and maybe we can clear it up. The false prophecies and the other doctrines are documented in the Watchtower. As far as other members telling their story, I suppose you are suggesting that they are all lying? I must say, I am from a Jehovah’s Witness family and can tell you first hand the hurt and deception that comes from this cult. You may call me a liar also, if you so choose. But calling something a lie doesn’t make it a lie. That is pretty much how the Watchtower operates. Call everything that disputes their doctrine a lie from Satan. The proof is in their own publications and the Word of God. I’m courious, why did you leave?
I am not a baptized witness, however I was raised with the beliefs. I do think that is what you yourself is misleading on this website. You are basing an entire religious belief on men who in fact are human and sinful. No it is not perfect however no one or no religion is. That is why we have faith! I hope you are not a religious person yourself, becaue showing that much hatred toward any one is not something GOD (or whatever you call Him)would be proud of. I am blessed to have Jehovah in my life and I will pray that he blesses you with peace. Finally, if ths belief is something you do not believe in then do just that don’t believe in it. However, even you do not know the TRUTH just faith in something and is that not what Jehovah Witness’s have, so respect that and move on with life.

Hi Tracey, What exactly is it that you think is misleading? Like most Jehovah’s Witnesses, you say that we are misleading people but offer no specifics or proof. We have given the copies of the documentation we quote, so you cannot say that it’s a lie. We do not hate the Jehovah’s Witnesses. We hate the fact that God’s Word has been re-written to support the Watchtower doctrines. We hate the way his Word has been twisted and people are dieing without the hope of salvation.
I find it hard to be told by a Jehovah’s Witness to just respect their beliefs and move on, when the Jehovah’s Witnesses do not practice this same standard that you are asking everyone else to practice. Lets face it, you can have faith in a rock for salvation, but that does not mean your faith is true. The Bible warns to test all things, and I pray you will do that. Iam sadly a disfellowshipped Jehovahs Witnesses four years on, but still hold on to there truths…. One of them is I reject the trinity it is a false doctrine why would Christ Jesus say in Luke 22:42 ‘Father if you wish, remove this cup from me’ Neverless let, not my will but yours take place’…To say if Jesus was God he would be talking to himself and the point of prayer would be meaningless.I intead to be renstated in the near future Jehovah willing…
Phillip, I say praise God! Listen, I don’t care why you were disfellowshipped and neither does God. You want to know why? Because the lies you were told about the Bible and about Jesus and about salvation was all a lie. Phillip, let me tell you about the grace of God. A grace so powerful that you do not need to work your way to heaven, but it is a free gift because he loves you so much. That’s right, it’s free and it’s because he loves YOU. Hey, if we could work our way to heaven then why would there be a need for Jesus?
The Watchtower said because the word “trinity†cannot be found in the Bible it must be ruled out. Let me ask you Phillip, Does the fact that the word “Theocracy†is not in the Bible rule out the possibility that it is a biblical concept? This is considering that the Watchtower considers itself a theocratic society.

According to the Watchtower book “Reasoning from the Scriptures†it says that we should not reject a doctrine simply because we cannot fully comprehend it. Can we agree, then, that we should not reject the doctrine of the Trinity simply because we cannot fully understand it?
Phillip, Jesus died for you. The Jesus that you have never known before. The Jesus that created the universe and loves you more than you will ever know. It is by his grace you are saved and not of works! Let us show you the truth in His true Bible, not the Bible that the Watchtower fixed to fit their doctrines, but the true and living Word of God.
i may be confused….but why are they murders?? aren’t you going a bit toooooo far? it seems offensive even to me.
the proof that i have is that, even though you are putting the scriptures, but you are mocking them, mulipulating them, and you don’t truly understand them. you say that we lie about the prophecies, but if you read more about the bible, you will also find a text where is says that we don’t know that “time or day” when the this supposely world will end. you may right in some things, but you are the one misleading by mis-using the meaning of the text. by this is america and jehovah gave us free will, so do and say whatever you feel like. i am not your mother only a baptized girl who is 16 years old. have fun trying to sort out your confused mind like me. of course i don’t believe anything you say, but i like to laugh from time to time. thank you for your “wonderful” incite about the jehovah witness. by the way, what is your career? What do you do in your free time? do you make posters to protest? just wondering….
you know, i’m not sure god wanted all this controversy over him. people getting in heated arguements over whos wrong or whos right its obsurde!! i was a witness for 18 years from birth and if you want to call it a cult then so is any other oganized belief system where you go somewhere to practice your shared beliefs with like minded people. in the bible it tells us to pray all day long for he hears our prayers regardless of where you are and reads whats in our hearts. i am no longer a witness due to the supposedyl family based religion until you decide its not for you the you get dis fellowshiped and basically banned from your remaining witness family. my parents won’t even go to my non witness wedding. after due extensive research, travel and study i really believe that god doesn’t care what you call yourself its about creating a relationship with god in us and living a life to the fullest our concious will let us befor we justify our actions to continue living for lack of a better a better statement, sin.
I’m a Santified, Holy Ghost filled Christian. I believe every word that Bible says. I’m really saddened by what the Jehovah Witnesses believe and how they twist the Word of God around to fit what they want you to believe. God had to send the ultimate sacrifice down the earthly realm because Jesus had to die so that you and I would have a right to the Tree of Life. After Jesus died and rose again with ALL Power in His hands there was no need to have burnt offerings, etc. I know that my Bible tells me is that “The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ” who is his son. After Jesus assended back into heaven my Bible tells me that God said that He couldn’t leave His people comfortless therefore He sent the Holy Spirit to comfort, Lead and Guide us.
The Bible also tells us not to be contesters of the Word of God. In other words, don’t argue over it. We can have a discussion without arguing. When I pray at night, I pray that God will bring everyone into the right knowledge of Him. Not to have his Word twisted around. We are NOT supposed to add or take away from his Word (Bible).
For those that don’t believe in the Holy Ghost, it is REAL and it is a feeling like NO OTHER. Just like Jesus is REAL.
You need to Rightly divide the Word. I pray for people all over the world everyday.
