Jehovah’s Witness Exposed by Ex-Members
By Pedward
This video was completed in the 1980′s but it’s still very true today. It shows the devestation that has happend to familys that were caught up in the Jehovah’s Witnesses with true life storys. It is about an hour long, but well worth the time to view it.

Its nothing more than a noney making scam. Its a cult. I know a family that is ruined from this cult. The parents have shuned the kids because they have decided to have mind and lives of there own. Its a dang shame too.
Interesting, but not convincing just like any propaganda material. Finding Jesus personally sounds like evanjelical moto to me, and speaking of materialist, mind controlling, money making aparatus??? really??? take any church for example, starting from vatican to club 700.
That is not true what they are saying about the witnesses because I know them from the disaster of huricane Katrina and I am not part of there religion and they helped me with constructing my house and no other religion tryed to help, they were nice and very united and not the way you portray them. You are the ones that are lying.
Louis is right about this film it is just a lie because I lived in New York by the Watchtower building they are not there for the money, because if they were where would they have paid for all the publication that give away free!!! People who beleive what you just show in the clip are just mad up lies that you made up, it seems that you are Jealous of how united they are and keep doing what they are doing.
Thank you Louis and Scott for taking the time to view the video and we can appreciate your comments. The one thing I would like to point out here is that this is not an attack on “people”, but an account of how members were treated by the elders and organization. There are many things I like about the Jehovah’s Wintesses. I love their zeal and boldness to go door to door for one thing. I don’t think most Christians do or would. They can be a very loving and caring group. However, they are spreading things about God and the Bible that just aren’t true. I know how loving they are, because I grew up with it. My own mother is a Jehovah’s Witness and she is the most loving person I know. But the fact is, she has been lead astray by the Watchtower and deined basic truths in the Bible that will not lead to heaven. That fact in itself hurts me and many in the family deeply.
Louis, I know what you mean when you say how much they helped during Katrina, but many others like Samaritans Purse did also. Helping others in need does not mean the message you give to others is correct. But the Bible tells us that satan comes dressed as an angel of light. Jesus said there will be wolfs among the sheep and many will come to him at death and say “Haven’t I prophesied in your name and heal the sick in your name” and Jesus will tell them to “depart from me I never knew you”. So this gives us clear indications that a person may be think they are right and yet be wrong.
Scott, I know what you say when you talk about giving publications out for free, but giving something for free does not mean that what they say is correct. I know of many many people and companys who give things for free only to get you to buy into or from them something later. If you were to tell me about a friend who really hurt you by something that happened and I said to you “oh, I don’t believe that, I know Bill, he would never do that to anyone”. How would you feel? What they are saying is that you are a liar. Well the same is true here. These people tell their story and basically you have called them all liars.
Trust me when I say, I am in no way jealous of them. I feel very bad for them and want to save them and my hope is that maybe someone will come to the truth through this website.
We are going to be starting a forum soon and I would love for you all to come back an talk! Speak your mind in love and lets talk! God bless you both.
I totally enjoyed the film. I was married to a divored disfellowshipped Witness. It is time that someone has come forward and told thier story/stories. What amazed me is the isolation newly disfellowshipped Witnesses feel, they have no friends because they are not allowed to associate with nonwitnesses.
I remember a story my husband had told me long ago, it was when he was young and working, his boss was giving out Christmas bonus’ and he refused the bonus because they do not celebrate the holiday. He was told that it was alright to take the money. I never could understand why it would be alright to take the money when it was given in the spirit of Christmas. He did not take the money because of his belief and I was very proud of him for his convictions.
Sadly, we divorced after 12 yrs of marriage, but a lot of that had to do with a long custody battle over his children. I did and still do feel very sorry for his children because they were torn between 2 parents one a witness and one not. To me there never should have been an issue over the child custody, after all the witnesses believe in the headship principle. Oh yes, I forgot, Gods law is used when it fits the purpose when not then lets go to Ceasers Law.
Again, thank you for trying to get the word out and good luck in your endeavors.
This was very a interesting and informative film. I am currently married to a disfellowshipped witness who is trying to re-establih her ties in a new kingdom hall. I was raised a christian but had many dealings with witnesses myself. On the whole they were nice people but they always seemed to spend to much time waiting for the end and never accomplished much. I really don’t want my wife to go back in and this film will help me to prepare for what may come. I’ve read much on the witnesses the last month or so and everytime I ask her questions about her religion based on what I have read she gets very defensive and says that all of the negative is from apostates. My only reply is that if your religion does not allow any alternative thought or questions, then you are surely involved in mind control. This is so sad for me because I really love my wife but I’m feeling more and more that this will break us up if it continues. Thank you for putting the film out there.
Louis,
Thank you for your comments. I can only imagine how devastating the effects of Katrina were on you. The help you received is a good example of how we all should treat one another.
I know that this site is not, in any way, an attempt to diminish nor attack the kind acts of individuals who call themselves Jehovah’s Witness. I see it is clear that the reason for this site is to be bold in the Truth, God’s Word and be servants to Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
To stand by and say nothing is impossible. I feel deep sadness for millions who are being grossly mislead and deceived all in belief they are serving God. The Watchtower Society gives false teachings to people.
Here are some facts:
The New World Translation of The Holy Scriptures is what JW’s believe to be the “only” true translation of God’s Word. This translation is NOT recognized by any respected and credentialed biblical linguists. I urge people to look at evidence themselves. This is an inaccurate and misleading translation of The Holy Bible by five men of The Watchtower Society. When questionned by scholars, around the world, about the credentials and accountability of the translators The Watchtower Society hid behind the excuse that all the glory should be given to God. This was a tactic used to hide the identity of the men responsible for translation. The identity of these men was revealed. None were biblical linguists, none had Greek or Hebrew training at all. The Watchtower Society has taken God’s Word and twisted it, turned it and changed it in order to conform to their beliefs and doctrine. Changed to fit their theology. Changed to fit their theology. Changed again and again and again!
God’s Word NEVER changes!
God’s Word never comes back void. God wants us to know the Truth. This misleading by the Watchtower is an insult to The Word of God.
If you want to know God, know His truth, His will, His desire I encourage everyone to read The Holy Bible. Here we are free to ask, challenge and seek the truth. There are no secrets and we are not asked to simply take an organization’s belief, or word for teachings. We are to check it for ourselves in His Word.
Frank,
Do not give up. Equip yourself. God is bigger than The Watchtower Society. Seek and ye shall find.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody comes to the Father except through me.”
I think that all of you just HIPOCRITS if you think that you are telling the truth. You say that you were all once Jehovah Witnesses but you don’t act like them. You just say that there are MISLEADING people, but how so we know that You are misleading everyone else. Mabe you are the wolfs that are dresses as sheep. You think that you are giving guidance to every one else when you seem not to know any thing at all. Maybe you are the angel of light, satan is mabe using you as his PESONAL MESSANGERS.
Louis is bring very good points up. It is intersting that you told him, “Trust me” Didn’t you say that we were to listen to God and not humans. So why are you telling us what to do if you said to Louis that you were going to have a forum to speak his mind, he can say anything that he want to and you can’t do anything about it, so how do we know that you are not speaking YOUR OWN MIND AND MAKING ANYTHING UP AS YOU GO ALONG.
Louis and Matt, the facts and the truth come from the Word of God and the evidence is in the Watchtower’s quotes which I have supplied. I have even displayed copies of the actual documents, so I’m not sure I will ever get you to understand these are not things I have made up.
Matt, don’t twist my words, please complete the sentence when I said “trust me, I am not jealous” that is very clear that I am talking about my own feelings not Gods.
im not a big fan of god but i go wid my auntie to the meeting alot. My gandad has previesley become a jehovahs witness and he eally belives in god.
Who are we to judge what the next person thinks or does? Every religion has a group of fanatics who go overboard, maybe the people some of you are discussing fit that catagory. I stumbled on this website while doing research in the Witnesses and it seems like a lot of nonesense to me. While I am not a Witness I feel that this “I am going to save these heathens” mentality is coming out lound and clear here. Why are you spending so much time and effort trying to dismiss a group of people who are trying to spread what they view as “God’s Truths?”
I think you should do a site about the many religions who are out there telling people that if they want to get a blessing then they must put 10% of their earnings in some type of collection apparatus. Basically they are being told to buy a blessing.
In my opinion you sound like a diagruntled person who is out to spread damanging rumors. As far as people twisting the Bible to meet their needs, everyone does that so that point is lost in the darkness.
In the end I feel that you are pointing out the Witnesses, a groups that gets a lot of negative feedback, so that you will gert a large membership for your purposed forum. I think you are the one busy attacking and twisting words to achieve what you want and that is a name on the internet.
I just pray and hope that you are not setting up a minicult following on the internet.
April, we can certainly judge a group based on what is right and what is wrong. That is of course, if you believe on absolute truth. If I were to murder you, then most people would judge me a murderer based on that fact. Now, if I were to say “I think it’s OK to murder someone if they bother meâ€, would you not judge that my thinking and actions were wrong? Why? Because my thinking and the things I have done have caused someone to die! So yes, we have a right to judge right and wrong, it’s done everyday in every court in the US, and it’s also done in the Bible by God.
You are right, there are people in every religion that take things too far, but we are not talking about those. We are talking about and entire religion that encompasses everyone, not just a few fanatics.
Yes, I hope it is “loud and clear†that we are out to save a group of people that have been deceived by their leaders to believe something that will lead them to hell. I hope we save hundreds of thousands! We spend the time doing what we do, because we feel this is what the Lord wants us to do. These are not rumors we are spreading, they are facts and we have backed it up with copies of their literature.
You say that “everyone†twist scripture, really? Please point out a scripture we have used that was twisted. We just want to point people to the truth of Jesus Christ, that’s all. No forum memberships or name on the net, just Jesus.
Wow – I stumbled upon this video as I was just searching for news items of the day – and I have to say, although dated, this has to be the most extensive collection of disgruntled, disillusioned, hate-mongering individuals I have seen in a long time. Because I am a free and critical thinker, I welcome other people’s thoughts and crticisms. And so against my better judgement, I viewed the video although it was clear to see what it’s goals were after just a few short minutes. Here’s all I can add: The films participants speak extensively about how Jehovah’s Witnesses ruined their families. Yet, everything I read and see is the Witnesses promoting family study, togetherness, marital fidelity, moderation in habits concerning televison, work, money and the like. They lead people away from lives of substance abuse, immorality and spiritism. So, when you decry them at such length, I say look at the fruit. Oh yes, you have your film’s participants isolating the evils of Witnesses who spoke callously and in an unloving manner. I don’t doubt for a minute that this is true. What you describe is very common for imperfect people. Amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses there are some of the most imperfect people you will find, even amongst their leadership. May I remind you also that God’s original people, Israel, had amongst it’s ranks murdurous adulterers, like King David, those who leaned toward false gods like King Solomon – and need I even mention the religious leaders of Jesus day who ultimately had him killed. So newsflash: In amongst God’s organization, there are imperfect people. Always has been. Despite the many errors and misconceptions that the apostles had (yes, even they incorrectly speculated that God’s heavenly kingdom was going to be established at the time of Jesus’ ascension to heaven)they cannot be discounted as holy men that Jesus himself personally selected. So, in conclusion, before you put together another collection of people who sinned in any number of ways, and then cannot figure out why other Christians might not want to associate with them – I suggest you take a look at the fruit, not of a few select imperfect people, but of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a whole, who are a group of people who love God’s law, recognize Jesus for who he said he was, not God, but God’s Son (mankind’s Redeemer), preachers and advocates of the Holy Bible – and finally, as those who, although we cannot ‘work’ our way to salvation – we appreciate what James said when he wrote at James 2:26 “…faith without works is dead.” Your video is clear evidence of your fruit. I wonder how many people were built up by it. Thanks for the opportunity to speak.
I have been a witness since I was 9 years old, I was baptised at 14 and I am now 35 years old. I have never sinned against God and never been disfellowshipped or disassociated. I have not been to a meeting for nearly a year now because unfortunately what you see in this video is all too familiar to me. I have witnessed very bad treatment from elders and members of the congregation… not just towards me but to other members of my family and friends. Sadly I have not seen much of the love they are supposed to have amongst themselves. I have also had the pleasure of knowing many very good people who are Jehovahs Witnesses, true christians, but sadly the good that they do is so far outweighed by the bad treatment from others. I still completely trust in the bible but we are not supposed to be under such complete control by a Society, an Organization who act as our conscience.. I didn’t even realise this had happened to me until I looked back objectively. These people in the video are NOT lying, these things DO happen. It is with sadness and refelection that I write this.. not through bitterness.
Just to make it clear.. when I said I’d never sinned against God I meant in the Witness sense.. I have done nothing whilst being a witness that is considered a disfellowshipping offence.
Watchingthe Fruit, I’m glad you “welcome other people’s thoughts and criticismsâ€, however, your post says anything but this. It’s clear that in your opinion, criticism is OK as long as you agree with it. If you have read and understood what we are trying to say, you would see that we are not trying to personally attack a group of people, but attack the “organization†that claims they are lead by God. The Bible says that no one is without sin, so we can agree that people within every church are sinful. It comes down to what do you do with your sin? How is one reconciled to God in a way that leads to forgiveness and eternal life? The answer is very clear in the Bible, it is Jesus Christ. You spoke about sinful men in the Bible, but you did not talk about the consequences of their sin. We have looked at the Watchtower and how they train the Jehovah’s Witnesses and we have also look at their fruit, which you speak so much about. Their fruit is heart breaking. You have people dieing for a scripture from Gods word that has been twisted. You have family’s torn apart due to their disfellowship tactics. You have people selling everything they owned and not going to school because they were told the world would end in 1975 and all the other dates that were published. You had children dieing because they were not allowed to get vaccinations at one time. You had people dieing because organ transplants were not allowed at one time. Then somehow God showed the Watchtower “new light†that allowed these things. The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, so whos direction were these doctrines from? Not Jehovah God! So there is your fruit, how many were built up by that? Thank you for writing, but you did not make your point. God Bless you and I hope you find the truth. If you need help, please let us know.
I am wondering that if the people involved in this website have ever actually taken a close unbiased look at the Witnesses and instead of seeing what in truth is right in front of them, are seeing the prejudiced views of such a spineless world? Yes, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not permit blood tranfusion. Have you ever asked a Witness why? Have you even searched the Bible to try and see for yourself? Blood is sacred in the eyes of God, no matter what Bible you look in, or what covenant you follow. But aside from the religious point of view, think of the health benefits. Would you take a blood transfusion to save your life in the short-term, only to die of Hepetitus or HIV/AIDS? Is it really worth it? And the choice is entirely up to the prospective Tranfusion patient. You say parents are killing their children over this. Parents have the legal right of influence over any medical decision in their child’s life while that person remains a minor. It is really no different to any medical treatment. Jehovah’s Witnesses a Cult? If you are to say this then what makes Catholicism and any other chritian branch not? Every church asks for the donation, and some are very forceful in this request. All the monies raised by the Watchtower Society are used in the publications of books, magazines, videos/dvd’s and audio soundtracks, and also for the construction of Kingdom Halls and the ministery service, and let me tell you, the Society is not a rich one. At least the Witnesses are seen to be practicing the things they preach. You speak of wolves among sheep. I do not claim, or any other Witness, that all Witnesses are what they would have everybody believe. There is not a single church or union or whatever you wish to call it, without corruption and filth in it’s midst. At least the Witnesses try to do something about this fault, instead of a tap on the wrist, you are forgiven of sin don’t do it again at every confession. And all the proof of the falsehood of the things said on this site are within this site. Look closely at the fineprint and see the insubstance behind the arguments. The difference between a true christian and those of Babylon the Great is the fact that a Witness would not put forward an argument before first researching to glean the truth of the matter.
To Jean: I think the questions you are posing in your comment have already been answered many times throughout not only that video, but also comments posted by former witnesses, or people who are associated with witnesses. How can you say that any of these views are biased? First of all, as pedward said earlier, several times, there have been many examples shown of the Jehovah’s Witnesses own doctrine, and much literature, which has been changed so many times to either fit their agenda, or try to cover up some contradiction, or mistake made by previous claims. And yes, blood may be sacred to God, but not in the way that it has been twisted by Jehovah’s Witnesses. It says in the Holy Bible that the blood is the life. Meaning not only that Jesus christ saved us by his cleansing blood and therefore gives us the gift of everlasting life, but also that blood sustains life. So, why would it be worse to sustain life by giving blood, or receiving it, rather than to let someone, especially your own child die, based solely on this one twisted verse in the Jehovah’s Witness bible? Also, you bring up the point of contracting HIV or hepatitis from a blood transfusion. The likelihood of that happening nowadays, is very, very slim. And yes, Jehovah’s witness is a cult, unlike Christianity, or catholicism. Here’s why… Although I’m not a Catholic, and I don’t follow a lot of their traditions, it is Bible based. Witnesses claim to be Bible based, but it based on the wrong bible. Christians base their beliefs on the true Word of God that has been passed down, and unchanged for thousands of years. The new world translation is a bible that was translated by a group of men that had no scholarly training whatsoever. They twisted the text around to fit what they believed. It is the farthest thing from any other translation of the Holy Bible to date. Also, I happen to agree with you about some churches being too pushy about offerings. But it is in the Word of God that we should give back to God some of which He has blessed us with. That money is used for ministering, and reaching out to people like Jehovah’s witnesses, so that they may see the truth. The truth is clearly written in the bible, that Jesus Christ is the Lord and saviour of anyone who chooses to accept Him. And He WILL return someday, but neither the date, nor the hour are for us to know. We are only to trust in Him, and keep our minds and hearts fixed on Him–while continuing to live our everyday lives–in preparation for His return. I will pray for you, and for every other person who’s mind has been clouded by all of these twisted teachings, that someday, God will speak to your heart and show you the true path to Heaven.
AMEN JESUSLVR!! It amazes me how the Jehovah’s Witnesses that leave post always speak in general terms and try to throw the blame on other churches or drag them into the discussion. They are all the same. At times I wonder if it’s the same person! LOL
I watch the film and also, purchased it and I believed with all my heart that it true because it did happen to me. No, for most Jehovah’s witnesses are wonderful people but, its the organization that steals them from the real love to Jehovah and they use the organization as Jesus and I never really thought it that way before and I am not sure if this correct. I do know personally, that they control every thought a person can have and now I know this is wrong. They appear that the promote family but they don’t not when you really look deeper they promote obedience to them, ONLY!! Your dead onther wise. So, please, I pray to anyone who wants to get involve with the organization to being every so careful don’t be miss guided use your MIND!! I didn’t I trusted them. I will someday write a booK nor our of bitterness but, for the truth. Yes, I know people are bitter in lots of religions and I can’t tell anyone where to go because I don’t have the answere myself. I on the fence I thought of going back to the organization because I don’t know how to think they did it for me for over thirty years. I am afraid to stand up and I am afraid to be in the world!! I have no education no friends lost everything!!! Please can anyone help me out. Who can I trust. I can’t trust religion either!! I so, lost an lonely my family was JWs and my son and brother I have thought this morning of ending my life but, I can’t I have grandchilden and I need to kn ow who Jesus is really an angel? Or could he be more like equal to Jehovah? jmalt 75 @yahoo.com please help me.
To All Who View, after viewing all posted comments you will know those who are of GOD by their fruit. You can clearly see which side has hatred and contempt in their hearts by the anger in their posts. Words to the wise Jehovah’s witnesses, you can not formulate and argument without approaching these debate’s with “LOVE”. The moral standard could be applaudable, but works alone are not enough to give you a ticket to Heaven. I’ve personally known 2 atheist’s that had better moral character than most Christian’s or Jehovah’s Witnesses and their kindness and deep moral’s are not going to get them any closer to Heaven. Seek GOD with your whole heart and He will reveal himself to you, ask and you shall receive and follow no man or his doctrine because men fall Jesus Christ my LORD and Savior does not fall. I come to you not to judge, but to plead to you to seek out the truth for yourself. Love to all my brothers take care Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Joh 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Amen Terry and thank you. I know it’s hard to speak in love some times. Passion for our beliefs can cloud our speech and I will be the first to admit, I come across wrong at times. For those I may offend, I am sorry, but the offense is not in hate, but in love for your soul and your eternal destiny. Yet my passion to grab you from the grips of this organization makes my determination come across wrong. We do love you and want you to come to the truth. God Bless.
Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Eph 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Eph 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Thank You Pedward for your response, I started with these verse’s above and I think of them often. It gives me humility and humbleness to share with all who view that I come before them the “Chief Of All Sinners”. I have to remind myself daily and sometime’s minute to minute that all that I am and all I have achieved is not of my works. This is a hard one for people to get their arms around because it is human nature to want to be good in one’s mind, but all have fallen short. There is only one way to eternal salvation and I Thank my Lord Jesus for bearing the stripe’s for not only me who have accepted him, but for those who have not. I plead to those who view this seek out the truth and I pray to GOD THE FATHER through CHRIST JESUS that your eye’s be un-covered and that you come to know his Son which He has given dominion over all things in Heaven and on Earth, that no matter how good you are or do on Earth it is still not enough. Sin is sin and it can not stand in the presence of GOD from the least to the great and everyone has to be covered in the perfect blood of CHRIST. AMEN Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Love to all my brothers Terry
i was raised as a Jehovah Winess baptized at 13 a full time minister until i was 16, my father was an Elder up until the last 4 yrs of his life. Yes they do promote family unity as long as the entire family are believers. I left the religon when I was 17 I ran away from home and was never able to live that down I was the perfect little elder’s daughter gone wrong! My dad never shunned me never turned his back. He taught me while growing up although most witness’s do not believe this to research the religon and others and make the decision on my own. Which I did. He was injured very badly and was no longer able to work or to support his family, he couldn’t even get up to walk. I went back to meetings during this time to try to encourage him because he was suffering from depression so badly. I asked the other elders to please help him to try to encourage him and to remind him what the bible teaches. They never called on my dad because my dad wasn’t going to meetings at this time (mainly because it was to painful to get there) He commited suicide Dec 4,2001. I was the one to find him and all I kept thinking was why didnt they help why didnt they care like they were supposed to. After he died I sat down with a couple of the elders because of their view point of suicide at the time. It was self murder and unforgivable. The way I looked at it my dad was a servant of god he loved him with all his heart and loved everything the bible said. Why could god not forgive him when he was at his weakest point. If the suicide had failed would he have regretted attempting. They told me that in god’s eyes the sin he commited was one of the worst. So i quit going once again and my entire family (i have 6 brothers and sisters) has fallen apart. I no longer talk to half of them because they feel I am apostate. An apostate is one who talks out badly about god. Never have I done that I love and believe in him and Jesus with all my heart. My mom talks to me on very rare occasions which is sad because I have a 7 yr old daughter who has seen her 2 times since my dad died and even less now that i am engaged and living with a man who is not a believer. She tells me she loves me and just wants me to be there when armagedon is over. And i have asked mom who are you to tell me I wont be there? That is the one teaching I have never agreed with is who is to say my neighbor who is a very good person never commited one of the 7 deadly unforgivable sins is not going to be there also. Why do you have to be one denomination of the christian religon. I do believe there is a true religon the christian religon not one denomination of it. The christian religon wether it is JW’s catholics baptist methodist all believe the same basic principals. It is all in how you interperate the bible. It is not until just recently that they have come out with information saying the suicide victims suffer from a disease and dying pays for their sin and they do have the hope of the resurrection. I find it funny that when the suicide victims rates raise and they start finidng it in the orginization they will change their feelings on the matter. To me I know who my father was I know how he lived his life and I know he had God’s favor. No matter what I have been told. I do not go to any church I believe in the bible i read it daily I pray all the time and i feel closer to God and to Jesus now than I ever have. Because it is my relationship I am believing in them on my own and not how some one is telling me to believe. I love my family although they are brain washed. I know this because to this day I catch myself. To this day I fear having to go before the elders because they hold so much authority. When I was 17 and I came back from running away I did go before the elders and it was scarier than anything i have ever had to do. i prayed to god over and over for forgiveness. The reason nothing happened to me was because of who my father was and they felt I would suffer enough persecution from that. How fair is that to be 17 severly manic bi-polar and told that I would receive persecution from the people that I had known my entire life and whom I thought loved me. And it was true despite my illness I was excluded never invited to do anything not talked to as though I was disfellowshipped because I was then known as “bad association” It was then I realized there was something wrong I moved out ang got married to get away from it was in an abusive relationship for 8 yrs because my only option was to go home and have no choice because of the my house my rules but to go back to meetings and suffer persecution. why should you suffer when you are wanting to know god’s word wanting to do what he says. Or what you think he says at the time. yes the bible says believers will be persecuted but persecuted from those who are suposed to believe in the same thing????Yes they teach wonderful morals and family unity when it is convenient when it goes along with the principals they teach. in no other religon have i seen a family member thrown out of a family for believing differently!how they feel they have the right to judge what should happen to some one is beyond me. I feel it is god’s place not mans. God is fogiving and loving not hateful and does not persecute those who truly love him. My little sister is 16 and still goes but her and I are very close and already she see’s it she knows what I am talking about when i say brain washing. But it is out of fear of loosing my family that she stays. How unfair not to be able to be her own person and believe in god her own way. My 19 yr old brother is gay and yes the bible does say it is wrong but out of fear is afraid to tell my mother because of her turning her back on him. And having to face the elders! Believing in god should not be scary it should be a warming and fulfilling experience. Because to truly know god (something my father taught me) is to truly know love and how to love. My father was a very wonderful wise man raised catholic and then converted to JW but never did he let the brain washing fully affect him. Which is why i believe I am able to see the light about it. I only hope others out there see it also. I wish every day my family would wake up and realize what they are doing and what they are giving up in the name of the society not in the name of god. My mother always quotes the scripture when I tell her she has turned her back “the true religon is like a 2 edged sword seperating parents from their children” I told her I hope that makes her feel better only because she isnt the one that has to explain to a 7 yr old that God says grandma cant see her!!!!! Not very loving to me. You would think in order for them to convince me that it was the true religon they wouldnt shun me they would love me for who I am and what I am! I have suffered 8 yrs of abuse and found a wonderful man whom is not a believer and I know that if I had stayed in the religon I would never have known real love or how it is to be treated like a woman and with respect. My ex was also JW so yes they do condone the abuse and say it is something that has to be dealt with inside the orginization having the crap beaten out of you is not a reason for divorce I suffered 8 yrs my daughter on numerous time and still has nighmares had to scream for her father not to kill me. Not until he had an affair and I had evidence (note I had to have evidence of the affair) was I scriptually free for a divorce how unfair and how unloving for them to feel that god would want me to go through all I have. Sorry this is so long lots to vent about!!!! No One will convince me what the JW’s teach is fully the true religon when they shun and turn their back on people who do believe in god and do want to live their life the way of the bible. That is the whole point that is what they teach! They say to love your neighbor as your brother and to treat others as you want to be treated. But when it comes down to it, it is stay away from those not believing what you believe they may wake you up to reality!!!!!!!
Trish, I am so sorry about the loss of your dad. According to the bible there is only one un-forgiveable sin and that is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I too have lost loved ones to suicide and grew up listening to the same non sense about suicide. My son attempted suicide at the age of 10 years old and according to GOD’s word a child that has not reached the age of accountability is un-blemished, so hypothetically if my son had been successful with his suicide he would have been standing blameless before The Father in Heaven. Now praise Jesus we were able to get him the guidance he needed, but my point is: if this is a loop hole who’s to say that there are not other loop hole’s. For anyone to argue that if you commit suicide your damned to hell I feel that is simply not true. How can anyone know what state of mind or suffering someone is in except Jesus. No one has the right to judge save one; He that sets on the throne. By no means am I condoning suicide because there is a better way and with all the deep brainwashing I received as a child I don’t believe I would take a chance and do it. I would hate to think I got this one wrong and after your gone there are no do overs. I will stand by until the Lord comes and takes me home however he see’s fit.
Trish I know life can be hard when your family rejects you, this is nothing new Jesus warned about brother against brother, mother against daughter, etc. Take comfort in him and place him first in your life above all things, keep talking and praying and by all means don’t give up on having a christian fellowship somewhere. The Lord will guide you to where you need to be if you allow yourself to be open to him and his will not your own will. I have been there and got a t-shirt for it. My thoughts on it were I don’t need an assembly I’m very much independent, but the truth is you need to fellowship with like minded Christian brothers and sisters. Even if you have to go to the extreme I did and build your own church without man’s twisted doctrine and base it on Jesus the chief corner stone of the foundation. If you don’t do it for yourself do it for your daughter.
Know that on this night I lift your daughter up in prayer before the Throne Room of GOD that she have peace in her mind and that these nightmare’s have no place and will not control her anymore. God is in control.
Your dad was wise in regards to Love. You will not know Jesus if you don’t know Love. God Bless you Trish
Hello All,
I was just wondering if I was in the wrong forum, I said things to offend, or if there is just no one out there posting anything? This is the only forum I check every 2 to 3 days and the posts are slow. I am not affiliated with this site, but do seek the truth from GOD and admit I don’t have all the answers. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them or research them and we can seek the answer’s together. With All of GOD’s Love, T
BLOOD.The Hebrews considered blood the seat of life because when it was permitted to run out of the body, life was extingueshed. Meat could only be eaten only after the blood had been fully drained out, and violation of this law meant expulsion from the community. Because blood was considered the essence of life, it was used as a sacrificial means of atoning for sins. In the New Testament the Blood of Christ is the true sacrificial blood to shed to ratify the New Covenent. BLOOD, THE SEAT OF LIFE. USED AS A SACRIFICIAL MEANS OF ATONEMENT. HEBREWS TO SMEAR BLOOD ON DOORPOSTS IN EGYPT.BLOOD OF CRIST TRUE SACRIFICIAL BLOOD. Acts 15:29 namely, to abstain from meat sacrificed to idols, from blood, from meats of strngled animals, and from unlawful marriege. If you keep free of these, you will be doing what is right. Farewell. The Bible refers to blood as life. Being in need of a blood transfusion and refusing it to me is suicide. REFUSING to use it on your children shall be like murder. Who are we to decide if it’s wrong? This misinterpretation has caused the life of people. Satanist people in their cult literally drink blood as an act against God. That is a sin, but a blood transfusion saves a life. If the Jehova Witness are so against anything to do with the intake of blood, they should all be vegetarians, because who is to know in what way the cows, the lamb, or the pigs are killed, they could have been strangled and we would never know it. Or what is going through their minds when they go to a steak house and order a cut of prime rib cooked med-rare? that should be the same as a blood transfusion, so listen up JV forget about blood transfusions and GO VEGGIE!
I liked the not so informative comment by one who said what are the chances of catching something from blood transfusion today? About 60% according to what i see on the news these days. New things are cropping up all the time, and who is to say a faulty cancer causing gene is not present in blood, they cannot screen for this as it will develope years later. You do not have to be a Jehovahs Witness today to be against blood transfusion, just someone who is intelligent looks at facts then makes an informative view of the risks, and decides it is better to refuse this lethal medical tool and go for some alternative, of which there are for most medical occasions. After reading the bible passagers refering to blood i am inclined to believe God is stearing us away from blood. But if you expect it to say no blood transfusions , remember when the bible was written. It was not last year, or even 100 years ago, but 2000 years ago. I also notice that those who have not become one of the many millions of infected people around this world shout the loudest about it’s safety. IF you think it is safe go get yourself a pint.
In answer to the young woman who was brought up a witness but had an abusive husband for 8 years. You did have a right to leave him without him committing adultery. As a local woman left her husband in my area years ago, although she remains officially still married to him, and she is still a practising witness. Witnesses also do not have to shun non believers only in the sense of joining them in imoral acts, or drunkeness ect. Where problems arise is if a child is disfellowshipped
the parent is supposed not to associate with them, but i have never heard of any parent being disfellowshipped for breaking this rule,so i would say it is a consciece decision by a parent, not a rule that can be enforced, and one the witnesses themselves need re’examine, although it is very easy for a non christian child to carry their parents in directions they should not go, due to love of that child. So maybe this is a safeguard of being lured into false teaching, or ways not accepted as right. The young woman has already shown she wants her gay brother accepted as he is, but sadly God does not accept gay men, so if your mother holds off from you. You can now see why. Gradually your non witness life is showing how you are changing and accepting more things you once shunned.
I am married to a witness, but never became one, nor do i attend meetings but i have been able to weigh up the outside world and it’s views compared to what you once called the truth, and even though i am not a JW, i can see their views safeguard you against the imoral, voilent society we live in today. Your ex husband belongs on the outside and always did, as bad ones always hide amongst good ones in all organisations, but what people have to learn no matter what religion, is you are alone even in a crowd. IF you are an adult, you and you alone are responsible for your actions, as no one else can save you, it is when you expect to lean on others for support and they let you down, that many lose their faith. We come into this world alone and go out alone unless in accidents involving others. God does not test couples, he tests individuals.
All men of the bible are men, or women tested alone, some failed but came back, some turned bad and stayed that way.
John, are you saying that a woman who was abused should not “officially divorce†her abuser and just leave him? What kind of life is that? So she should have to remain alone for the rest of her life because her husband abused her? I disagree if that’s what you are implying.
I agree that witnesses are not to shun nonbelievers, but that are to shun people who leave. The fact that many parents do not follow this does not negate the fact that many parents are told to shun their children. If this is a way to “safeguard†a witness from being lured into false teaching, how sure are they that what they teach is the truth? The Bible itself says to test all things in light of scripture and this is exactly the reason why what the Watchtower teaches is wrong. If what they taught the witnesses were not so easily debunked, then there shouldn’t be a problem with testing what they say in light of scripture. As my Pastor says to the congregation, please always check what I am teaching for yourself, don’t just follow my teaching because I am the Pastor.
The watchtower does have some very good safeguards in place to help people avoid immorality or the violent society we live in, but if what they teach is other areas are going to cost others their salvation by teachings that are contrary to the Bible, it needs to be exposed and that’s why we are here.
I agree with your point on leaning on men for support your every need. That only leads to disappointment every time. It is not in the faith of man that you are saved and lifted, but faith in Jesus Christ and who he was. The Bible says to not forsake the gathering of each other, to bare each others burdens and to confess your sins one to another. There is a reason for that. It helps hold you accountable to your flesh which is always in competition for your actions and I’m sorry that you never found that.
Blood transfusions:
As a nurse, I can say that sometimes blood transfusions are the ONLY thing that has saved a person’s life, particularly in the case of massive blood loss. One must weigh the risks vs. benefits. All medical intervention carries some risk.
Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, is currently testing a new artificial blood called “Polyheme” on trauma victims. It is still in the trial stage. However, if successful, it might solve the issue of blood transfusions permanently.

John… You’re right. I didn’t do extensive research about the risks of blood transfusions before I made that comment. I apologize, please forgive me. But I ask that you please not call me unintelligent. I find that to be a very rude comment that is unresearched… seeing as you really don’t know me. It was wrong for me to comment on that one piece of subject matter that I am not very educated in, as it is wrong for you to call me unintelligent… as it is also wrong for the watchtower to brainwash so many people that want the truth. The saddest, and scariest part about it is that they do it all in the name of God/Jesus. It is organizations like the Jehovah’s Witnesses that misrepresent those of us who truly believe what the Word of God says.
I would also like to say that… no, I have not personally been affected by a blood transfusion. I’ve luckily never had the need for one. So, no, I have not contracted any diseases from a blood transfusion. But, I do have an uncle who contracted hepatitis from a blood transfusion. But that blood transfusion also saved his life at that moment. So… I have to ask myself… was it worth it to live his life with that disease, and be able to live his life? Or would it have been better to not take the risk at all, and not be able to see his children grow up? Or let alone, not allow his children to have a father. I feel that the decision he made was the right one, and that the possibility of the blood transfusion, and the opportunities that it provides is a gift from God Himself.
How can I download the videos in use on this website for offline use? Is it possible to email it to me through my yahoo mailbox?
This has got to be one of the dumbest forums I have seen in awhile. It’s funny how people form opinions and negative feelings about something they really don’t know anything about or don’t understand completely. The creator of this forum obviously had an alter motive because he/she does not even know what he/she is talking about.
As a recently disfellowshipped witness, I was hoping to find progressive people who understand the consequences of their decisions and comprehend fully the good and bad of the organisation they left. Instead I cannot believe the whingeing of people who end up finding solace with groups of spiritual dunces and social low lifes. If you are no longer with witnesses please at least form a belief system that acknowledges simple truths and has some spine. I hate the lying ranters who use the same old corrupt stereoptypes I dismissed long ago with the reasoning of a child which only witnesses are kind enough to put with. Ex-witnesses should be sharper, have far more medical, scriptural, scientific, social knowledge and abilities than to give time and credence to these users and abusers.
im new to all this and have not read the bible (the big thick one) yet but i really cant tell wat your trying to prove. jehovah wants us to be with him and his son in a paridise world but you got to tell people the truth about everything.
